Your Wellness Roundtable

Wouldn't it be convenient to have one pill or one treatment that fixed EVERYTHING!! Yes it would be, but the reality is, there isn't one. Therefore, it is our job to be our own health advocates and get to know the support and guidance we need to succeed in all parts of our life.

Who are you? What are you doing? What are you not doing? What do you enjoy doing? How is your body responding? What do you hold on to? What are you responsible for? What has happened to you? What can you do that no one else can?

All these questions and many more help us check in with ourselves to see how our bodies are responding. Our body is an amazing physical part of us that guides our wellbeing. Do not take for granted how your body is speaking to you. Each body and every person will show differently . That is what makes us unique. Get to know yourself and what helps you and what hinders you. There is an abundance of support and ways to connect in this day and age. What feels painful right now? Start there! If something isn't working, don't quit, change your approach. Our roundtable changes as we change with the environment around us. Be open to change, it can be a positive experience that brings great things!

My ‘Roundtable’ right now in my life, being a 29 year old female entrepreneur , student, wife and mom with 2 little kids:

  • Time for myself: it’s  free of charge and needs to be scheduled. Coffee and my favorite show brings me simple pleasure.

  • Gratitude: there is always something to be grateful for . Focus on that and train that part of your brain. Gratitude is very powerful for a better life experience.

  • Love: shared with my family and GOOD friends. Find your tribe and cherish them, they are a blessing!

  • Meaningful work: my work is not only ‘my work’ but a way of life for my family and I. It brings me joy and lets me be creative, deep and caring.

  • Good food: that is clean and whole nourishes my body, I feel light and sharp when I eat well.

  • Stretching: if you don't use it you lose it. Circulation and blood flow is very important for our physical being.

  •  Drinking water: cleans and nourishes the body . Our bodies are 60% water don't underestimate its power!

  • Movement: get moving! If you stay too long in any part of your life you will become stagnant .

  • Laughter: joy is an amazing experience, find some everyday!

  • Plan: schedule time to plan and organize so you can experience the present moment. Stress is a failure to plan, but remember to be flexible at times.

  • Massage, Bemer Therapy , Acupuncture,  Chiro, Physio: all these help me maintain movement in my body. Who I visit depends on what's going on and for how long.

  • Doctor and Naturopath:  I believe both are necessary for well-being. We can prevent a lot before it gets to a traumatic body experience where we need medical attention. I am grateful to have both on my team!

  • Emotional Support: from my husband, family, friends, mentors and the ‘Touched By A Horse’ community. I have learned which therapists assist me and which ones do not. If you don't try you don't know, keep searching, you will connect with one at the right time.

  • Being with my animals and the environment around me keeps me calm and present with the moment.

  • Music: helps me find energy and joy when I don't have any left!

This is my ‘Roundtable’ right now in my life - what does yours look like?
