Slim

I have been around horses my whole life and love the process of working with them from start to finish. I worked as a professional pick up man for 18 years. Picking up has taught me a lot about how to set my horse up with buttons that serve the highest pressured situations. I was able to learn from some of the legends in the industry like Del Northcott, Gary & Wade Rempel, Jim Kelts, Dwight Dokken, Keith Pengelly, Terry Leeder and many more. I have and continue to constantly learn and fine tune what I do everyday. We have retired our best mares from the pickup string and are working on developing a bloodline of working performance horse that has the athleticism, heart, endurance and the mind to be a great partner. Our horses are like family and are given a lot of variety in their foundation to be solid and confident so people can feel safe with them. They work from all areas including colt starting, barrels, roping, ranching and programs with people. I look forward to the upcoming adventures the horses take us on and am excited to get the next up and comers ready for others and myself to enjoy in whichever field they choose.

8 year old dun gelding

Chip is one of our main mounts, with seasons changing in our life and not picking up, he has not been ridden this year. Therefore we have decided to let him go. We purchased Chip unstarted as a 2 year old. Slim has done all the training on him, he has all the buttons. He is an electric little horse with a BIG motor, he doesn't get outrun and has no bottom! He is the same if you ride him lots or not at all. He is for a confident experienced rider, who will appreciate his quirks and energy. Slim rode pasture on him as a 5 year old and picked up professionally with him from ages 5-7. Cali has started him on barrels and poles. He is running 2D in the barrels. He is a safe horse just really feely and will spook, we laugh about it as we know his personality. Although when the pressure comes on he dials in as you can see in his videos.I think he would be great to be someone's solid horse that gets all the attention.

Teeth, dewormer and trimming up to date. His feet are tough and doesn't need shoes.

Cali

Hi! My name is Cali, I work as an Equine Gestaltist/Cosmetologist and am the Founder of Conscious Effects. I have a passion for horses and working with them in many different ways. My gift is creating experiences and holding space for people while they process their feelings and thoughts. Lending support and guidance in the process so they can get unstuck and move forward in their lives, with the goal of being more congruent, confident and at peace with themselves. Its often our ego that gets in the way of our true spirit. The horses work with me in the gestalt experience as an active partner creating pieces of work to assist people in unlocking their full potential. Once we become more whole within ourselves we become more fulfilled and content. Our horses are our family alongside our two boys, Hudson and Beckham. Horses bring so much light into our lives and have so much to teach us. I stand by them and continue to integrate the lessons and experiences I receive from them.

Testimonials

Megan B | Consul, Saskatchewan

When I first signed up for the Wildly Conscious Retreat I honestly didn't know what to expect. But the whole weekend surpassed anything I could have hoped for. I was wrapped in understanding, hope, forgiveness and strength from the time I got there till the final goodbyes on Sunday. I met and shared with an amazing group of people about my past and fears, but also began a journey of healing, hope and forgiveness with them as well. I have never felt so supported and loved in such a safe environment before. My road to healing may be a rocky one but with the help of Carly and Cali and their equine partners, I have started my journey of healing.

Heather B | Carstairs, Alberta

I had a wonderful opportunity to be coached by Cali. Her gentle approach and support allowed me to explore my life long blockage of not allowing happiness and self care into my life. With her coaching I was able to feel into the life long effects of not allowing love into my life and she allowed me to envision how my life can look like if I allow love and happiness and how to live my life authentically with an open heart from a place of happiness. After working with Cali I feel more capable of living my life through the lense of self love and happiness, I am able to work on a new loving vision of my life.
