How Do Horses Heal Us?
This concept is not new. These beautiful creatures have been beside us in our journey moving forward for centuries. They have worked for us, carried us for travel, fought and died in our battles that were not theirs. Our relationship , over the course of history, has been an invaluable partnership.
Honouring the Horse
Various cultures and people have been benefiting from the innate healing ability of the horse for centuries. The majority of people have not been aware till now, therefore the concept seems new when in truth it is way older than you and I. We have so much to learn from them and I am honoured to partner with the horse, using gestalt methodologies to assist people in moving forward for good in their lives to find true fulfillment.
How Does It Work?
The approximately 1200 pound horse, looks at us a ball of moving energy. They do not speak our language therefore they are attuned to the tone of our bodies energy and the tone of our voice. They are so intuitive that they know what we are thinking before we say it. If you are out riding your horse, try thinking of what you want them to do, then say it out loud, then ask with your body. If you do these steps clearly the horse will know what you want before you get to using your body. Their sensitivity and awareness is so heightened from being a prey animal. Their survival depends on their awareness. Humans being predators makes us less intelligent in this area. With the partnership of Horses and an Equine Gestalt Coach (EGC) this intelligence is in our reach to experience deep efficient and effective healing.
Horses are natural experts in the Gestalt way of life, meaning they are in the present moment and maintain a holistic perspective of life. Consequently, horses respond when the environment is not safe, choosing to rest and enjoy when things are. They are a herd animal and know how to work as a group to keep each other safe and productive. This wisdom can improve our performance at work teaching us how to be better leaders and team players. They also teach us boundaries and patience by testing us and seeing our limits of what we will put up with. They teach us love and respect for ourselves and others by showing up to support and guide us with their insights. They are happiest when we are congruent with ourselves, meaning that our thoughts, words and feeling are all in line and true. This makes us safe to them, that is when they like to be around us . When we are congruent we will feel peace. When someone is needing assistance in a part of their body that is hurting or out of line, the horse will join his same body part to theirs to raise the frequency of that area. This gift helps assist our bodies to heal naturally from the inside out.
