Evolving In Change

Change is inevitable, so why resist it? What would it feel like to embrace it?

In life we all have a plan whether it is on paper, on a board, in our mind or in our subconscious. I am a stickler for having a vision. If we don't know where we are headed then no one will, and we won't be able to attract what we need to make it happen. I have found that whenever I am getting off track or missing the point of my calling, I get a course correction you could call it. When the correction is happening it can sometimes feel confusing, frustrating or disheartening. I have learned to be patient with it and watch it closely. The correction will take as long as it takes to work the kinks out so life can run more smoothly. The only way we can speed it up is to become aware of what the correction is and not to be afraid to change what is needing to happen.

What is a course correction?

A course correction is often hidden under negative context like humbled, burned out, fed up, lost, etc.  All these things are not negative and are simply insights from our higher power to stop, notice and check in with ourselves.

Are you in a course correction right now? Breathe, here are some questions to ask yourself right now.

  • What am I feeling in my body?

  • What is the constant in my mind?

  • What isn't working?

  • What is the goal?

  • Am I being sidetracked?

  • Am I resting enough?

  • What would energize me?

For those of you who don't know, I have just opened my second Studio as a hairstylist and run an Equine Gestalt Coaching business, “Conscious Effects.”  I could look at it as my third business but I don't feel it is. It's my first business that has evolved into a better one because of my growth and learning. I started out, doing people's hair and esthetics, focusing on outer beauty. Now I can support people more deeply, with their healing, that will radiate their beauty from the inside out. I look forward to the journey of Conscious Effects, yet am present and content where it's at for now.

In business there is always a new skill to be learned, mastered and practiced. As soon as we quit evolving and growing , the business dies. COVID has been a heightened example of change, especially in business. Some course corrected and made it work the best they could to sustain. Others resisted and stopped.

The change we have made at Conscious Effects during COVID, is a more health conscious beauty studio to support our bodies. We also decided to become more resourceful by building at home, and invested in better products that supported our values. My other insight was noticing how much I  love working with middle aged women. This course correction had a lot of mood swings, exhaustion, sadness, anger, frustration, confusion, noticing, planning and grinding. After the energy cycle of the change. I am happy to say I am back to feeling peace in my body, mind and environment.

The change will feel uncomfortable at times. That is ok, the feeling won't last forever.

I encourage all of you to never give up on your dreams and your hearts desires. If you need a course correction then take it, but do not give up.

The view of the mountains is beautiful at both the bottom and the top.

Be Well

Cali Brown
