Calm In The Chaos
COVID-19 had its first confirmed death on March 19th 2020. Nothing seems official until the media and the upper line tells us it is. They seem to be the ones that let us know when it's time to be fearful... What if we decided that for ourselves and did not give them that power. I am grateful to be properly informed on how to stay safe for myself and others, and will respect that with all my heart.. Even before this virus we would keep our son at home when sick to stop the spread of germs. Has our common sense been lost in the business of life and living in our minds? Have we crammed our schedules so tight that we can't afford for “Life” to happen? Take a moment and ask yourself, what in my life did I assume I needed to do that I am now realizing wasn't that important? How does it feel to let it go? What are truly our needs in life? Who supports those needs? How comfortable are you being still and where does your focus go?
Living A Present Life
I looked out my window when the panic set in. Most humans were freaking out, going right to the worst case scenario. Our horses were out in the pasture grazing peacefully, unchanged by the current situation. Life for my four and one year old also never changed, their energy stayed playful and loving. My family and I live a very gestalt life, by being present and looking at things as a whole. My horses and my children are my greatest teachers when I am getting out of the present moment and sucked into the chaos of the human perspective of life. Humans come with a lot of expectations of how life should be, what we should get out of life , and how we should be supported in every need and want, no matter how greedy it seems.
My Belief
(Doesn’t have to be yours, it brings me peace and maybe it can bring some to you as well)
The world does not need us to “do” or control as much as we think we need to. It actually can hinder our peace and gets in the way of the natural process of life. I have all my faith in the universe and mother nature. She is a very strong source of energy that will humble us as we need it. I think the polarity of humans is that some are the extreme givers and the others are extreme takers of the world. Mother nature does not need us to regulate her, she has all that power and will do what she needs to do to self regulate for the greatest good of all. Our job is to work with what she provides us at any given moment, living day-by-day, season-to-season and being grateful for all she has to offer. I look at all things in the universe as lessons, sometimes big, sometimes small, but I trust that she is always teaching us.
The Reality No One Wants to Talk About
Another thing we need to not fear but understand is that we are all going to die at exactly the right time. This topic seems dark, but that is because us humans have made it dark. I am not sure, nor is anyone on this earth certain on how life after death will be. Is it the same for all of us? I have my perspective and have found great peace with my inner spirit around this topic. I question, but do not dwell in it. I often wonder if this life is a dream? Is our birth our death and our death actually our birth? The uncertainty of not fully knowing gives life this added opportunity to discover ourselves at a very deep level, which increases our quality of life. The sooner we can make peace with our death, it will bring us more peace when the universe decides to take us. I want to clarify that my peace with death does not mean I want myself or others to die. Why I share this, is that every day and every moment is truly a blessing to experience when one is fully balanced; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We are all on borrowed time, and have always been. I wish all humans could adopt a simpler life and live it more consistently and not just when catastrophes hit. Letting this more sustainable, enjoyable life be your way of life even when the fear subsidies and the economy is well. Let's take this time to really check in. Ask yourself,
Who am I ?
What can never be taken from me?
What do I live for?
Am I living my life’s purpose to its full potential?
What clutters my life?
What fills and energizes my life?
What parts of myself am I investing in everyday?
What parts of myself are needing more balance?
